Daniel Roling
Position: Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Roling was previously the President and CEO of National Coal Corp., a southern Appalachian coal producer, from August 2006 until it was sold in December 2010..  Prior to serving at National Coal Corp., Mr. Roling was First Vice President and Global Senior Metals and Mining Analyst at Merrill Lynch, where he was employed for 25 years. Mr. Roling is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst, and is a long-standing member of the National Coal Council, which reports directly to the Secretary of the Department of Energy. Neil MacDonald will assume the position of Executive Vice President

Robert Payne, BS
Position: Chief Operating Officer

Robert Payne is a senior coal mining professional with over 25 years of experience in both underground and surface coal mine development, production and operations. Mr. Payne received his B.S. Mine Engineering degree in 1986 from the University of Alabama.

Sam Wong, CA, BCom
Position: Chief Financial Officer

Mr Wong is also currently the Chief Financial Officer of Chesapeake Gold Corp. Previously, Mr. Wong was the Corporate Controller for Luna Gold Corp. and Pathway Capital Ltd. While employed with Deloitte & Touche LLP, he obtained the Chartered Accountant designation; also, he is a graduate of the University of British Columbia where he received a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Gregory Saragas
Position: Vice President, Finance

Previously held senior management positions with companies such as Massey Energy, Debra Lynn Coals, and Nystar.  While at Debra Lynn Coals, Mr. Saragas managed day to day operations as Production Manager, later advancing to CFO, where he was instrumental in improving productivity and profitability.  After leaving Debra Lynn Coals, Mr. Saragas accepted a position of Regional CFO with Massey Energy.

John Pyles
Position: Safety Manager

37 years experience working for the United States Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration Division (“MSHA”) including over 27 years as a senior supervisor, manager in various Appalachian regions. Having held senior roles in both the Technical and Inspection divisions, which included all aspects of ventilation, health, electrical education, highwall and safety inspections at approximately 80 underground and 95 surface mines.

Mark Mills
Position: Mine Manager, Rex No. 1 Mine

30 years of mining experience in the central Appalachian coal fields. With a background in underground, highwall and surface mining his responsibilities have evolved from surveying, permitting, planning, mine management, general manager, to senior management giving him a wide range of experience in mine production, safety and compliance.

Randy Youngblood
Position: Mine Manager, Rosa Mine

35 years of experience in coal mining in Alabama.  Randy has held mine supervisory, coal sales and transportation management positions with several coal companies including King Coal, Cullman Coal and Reid Mining.
